A Sword of Shadowed Sky Is the planned first book in the Winds of Eternity Trilogy.I first had the idea for the book a long time ago when thinking about the original Hans Christian Anderson version of The Little Mermaid and how sad it is that the mermaid gave up not just her body but her life for a prince that would never love her back.I also love worldbuilding wanted to use this as an opportunity to see how far I could push fae lore while still being identifiable. I spent much of my teenage years enjoying books like Iron Fey, Wicked Lovely, Tithe, and other fairy inspired stories, but the women in the books were always queens and royalty. I wanted someone like Alanna from The Song of the Lioness as my heroine.And finally, I wanted this to be a book for adults. Because, well, I'm in my late thirties and I want protagonists who have seen something of life so far and have reasons to be cynical.

• First child of the Queen of the Sea and her King-Consort,

• Engaged to the Prince of Spring; will one day rule the Sea and all of it's cities under the waves,

• Proficient in the Sea-Song and shapeshifting,

• Has powers that should not be possible.
